How to enable the registry?

Many people know such a thing as the registry of the operating system. How to include the register, our article will tell.

You can change the Windows registry manually using the special Registry Editor (Regedit.exe). In order for you to access this editor, you must perform the following actions:

  1. Click the "Start" button, then select the item called "Run."
  2. In the window “Run” enter the command “regedit” (without brackets) and press the key “Enter”.

But it happens that Regedit is disabled by the system administrator or some types of viruses. In such a situation, in order to re-enable the registry editor using the so-called group policy editor, you need to:

  1. Click the "Start" button, then select the item called "Run."
  2. In the window “Run” enter the command “gpedit.msc”.
  3. Click "User Configuration", then click "Administrative Templates".
  4. In the right pane of Group Policy, double-click on the folder called "System".
  5. Now double-click on the item "Make registry editing tools unavailable."
  6. Select a switch to the "not set" position.
  7. Click on the "Apply" button, then "OK". This will enable Regedit.
