Denying themselves the usual things, people become more humble and come to understand that the meaning of life is not in material values ​​and constant pleasures. In addition, the 40-day fast allows everyone to rethink their existence and free their heart from such sinful feelings as envy, anger and anger.

During Great Lent, each day of the week is subject to its own dietary rules. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday provided for dryness. This means that these days it is allowed to eat lean foods that do not require cooking, for example, unleavened bread, vegetables and fruits, both seasonal and exotic, a variety of nuts and honey. From drinking, only ordinary water is allowed, filtered or boiled and cooled to room temperature. It is recommended to eat only once a day and preferably in the evening.
