Hippo Paper Crafts

Another great version of the handicraft on the subject “Africa” is a hand-made paper made from Behemoth paper. And for the younger children, the lighter version of this craft - from disposable plates - will be more accessible.

What is needed in the work:
  1. Two paper disposable plates. If the craft is made of paper, then instead of plates we use two sheets of thick paper cardboard.
  2. Paints and a wide brush.
  3. Scissors.
  4. Glue.
  5. Toy eyes.
  6. Black marker.
  7. Colored paper and landscape sheet.

Getting Started.

First of all, we cut off the edges of our paper plates on both sides, thus giving them a rectangular shape with rounded corners. If you use sheets of regular cardboard, simply round the corners of them.

Paint the plates:

we cover the first plate with a light gray paint completely,and on the other - only half;

the second plate on one side is half painted with light gray paint, and on the other, bright pink or red.

If you use plain cardboard, you can take gray sheets, one of which is painted on the white side in pink.

We are waiting for the paint to dry well em, after which the pink-colored plate is bent in half with the pink surface inwards.

Outside, on the light-gray half of this plate, glue two small pieces of white paper cut in the form of droplets - you get a face of a hippopotamus with nostrils . Put dots as a black marker, denoting a mustache.

Cut out four small elongated semi-sheets from the album sheet, glue them on the edges of the pink side of the plate - two on top, two on the bottom. It turns out the mouth of a hippopotamus with teeth.

We combine a bent in half plate with a plate painted in gray.At the same time, we overlay each other and glue the unpainted, white, halves of the plates.

From the colored paper of light gray color, we cut out two small semi-sheets, glue them to the bottom (gray) plate from the edge - we get hippopotamus ears.

We supplement the muzzle with toy eyes - and the hippopotamus is ready!
